I tend to update my Facebook page more regularly than this site - it can be found here:

Updated: January 2011.

Wow, it's been pretty busy since my last update!

The biggest project during that time has been this:

Please click the image above for more info. It's a 1960's Watkins bass, which needs a replacement neck.

"In other news"...I've also been sorting out an Epiphone Explorer with a dodgy pickup, and there was a Gibson Les Paul which needed restringing and setting-up, oh and the Ibanez RG with the open-string buzzing....and this was fun too:

Please click the image above for more info. It's a BC Rich Warlock, which needed the headstock repaired and a full re-spray.

2011 looks set to be busy too, with several jobs in the pipeline already.

Here's a sneaky peeky at something which should be finished quite soon (I hope!)

Updated: 11 July 2009.

I recently became a professional member of NAMIR - the National Association of Musical Instrument Repairers.

I also decided to give the ol' Chibanez pictured below a little more "authenticity" by scalloping the final four frets!

I have finished work on my "Project Chibanez" - a Chinese copy of an Ibanez JEM77V.

I have basically completed work on my first proper custom build: the Capricorn R7t!

It looks like this:

I entered it into a competition in an online guitar-building forum called Project Guitar. They hold a monthly competition, open to anyone. My entry achieved 5th place, with 7 of the 107 votes cast. I was very pleased with that, considering it's my first attempt!! I also have had it nominated in a very similar monthly competition on a site called sevenstring.org, hopefully it will make it through to the final shortlisted 5 entries which are then voted for by the forum members.

And, as those of you who know me will have guessed, build #2 is already in progess! It's going to be a 6 string, shaped like a Gibson Explorer, very much along the lines of James Hetfield from Metallica's black models. Expect the body to be made of ash, with a maple neck, active EMG pickups, but I'm not sure about the bridge yet! Could be a tun-o-matic, or will I be tempted by a Floyd??
