Hello, and welcome to my site!
I make, mend and modify guitars.
Typical jobs can include:
basic setup - new strings, check/adjust neck relief, check/set intonation, check instrument for any other issues or problems (loose neck, loose wiring etc.) A good setup will make your guitar much nicer to play, and it will tune-up and remain in tune much better!
fretwork - levelling, re-crowning, dressing, polishing. Do your frets have worn areas which affect tuning? Not only does it look awful, it can actually affect the tuning of your guitar. A spot of fretwork will really make a difference to how your instrument looks and plays.
pickup upgrade/replacement - ditch those generic Far Eastern units and get some real sounds from decent pickups! For example, you may want a more crunchy "heavy metal" sound: then why not install active EMG pickups? Or any other quality pickup brand. And let's get those nasty, scratchy cheap control pots replaced while we're at it.
wiring options - want more diversity from your guitar? By using humbuckers with 4-conductor wiring, a huge array of tones will become yours! Or perhaps you prefer an alternative switching arrangement?
hardware upgrade/replacement - better tuners = better tuning stability, simple as that! Why not try an Earvana compensated nut which will improve your guitar's tuning, especially on open string chords? Perhaps your bridge saddles are worn, or your tremolo's pivot points are getting flat?
more serious repairs - dropped it and broken the headstock? Could be a candidate for surgery!
custom work - replacement necks and bodies made to your specifications.
Please look at the NEWS and REPAIRWORK pages of my site for more information and examples of my work.
You are welcome to supply your own parts for fitting, or I can source items to your specifications.
